One jar will last you about 7 uses (enough for one period)

  • Glow Girl: Hibiscus tea is known to have analgesic properties that relax the muscles of the bladder and uterus thereby reducing cramps
  • ImmuniTea: Ginger is a wonder herb that can effectively ease menstrual cramps. This herb plays a key role in lowering the levels of the pain-causing prostaglandins. It also helps fight fatigue associated with premenstrual syndrome and can make irregular periods regular.
  • Raspberry Leaf: This tea leaf has been consumed for centuries to naturally support healthy menstruation, tone the uterus and may be used for menstrual cramps. Drinking raspberry leaf tea before or during your menstrual cycle may help lessen or reduce cramps
  • Nettle Leaf: It helps to regulate the menstrual cycle, decreases period pain and heavy menstrual bleeding. Stinging nettle: Nettle is both astringent and high in iron, vit. C and chlorophyll, all of which help iron-deficiency anaemia. It is considered an excellent nutritive herb for heavy menstrual bleeding.
  • Licorice Root: Licorice root is a mainstay home remedy for women with menstrual cramps and is also believed to help alleviate many of the adverse symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes.
  • Yarrow: relax smooth muscle in the intestine and uterus, which can relieve stomach and menstrual cramps

1. Loose leaf tea is of higher quality

Most bagged teas available from the supermarket are mass produced and made using dust ad fannings – the tiny bits of tea left over from the production of loose leaf tea.

2. Loose leaf tea is fresher

Mass-produced tea bags are generally filled with tea leaves from different locations, and have usually travelled great distances before they reach supermarket shelves, making it less fresh.

3. Loose leaf tea tastes better

Mass-produced bagged tea has been blended for standardization and as such, you won’t experience the difference in taste and aroma between types of leaves and locations. For a more refined tea experience, or if you’re looking for something that just tastes better, fresher and more wholesome, brew loose leaf tea.

Tea bags have a consistent but one-dimensional taste (bold and astringent) and limited flavour expression,” says Suk-Yi. “Due to the undiscerning power of machine harvesting, bagged teas may include stems and seeds that can make the tea bitter.

4. Loose leaf tea is more diverse

There is more to tea than black tea or green tea. Types of tea such as oolong, white tea, yellow tea, and fermented tea are diverse, and each is a reflection of its cultivars, climate, geography and production.

5. Loose leaf tea is better for the environment

Most tea bags are not compostable, and of those that are, very few people make the effort to compost them. Loose leaf tea reduce the amount of packaging you’re using and can be directly thrown onto the compost heap.

6. Loose leaf tea is good for your health

Tea has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which can contribute to your overall wellness.  The primary chemicals responsible for the health claims of green tea, called catechins, are found in the highest concentrations in fresh leaves.

How do I store my tea? Will it go bad?
Tea should be stored away from light, moisture, and strongly flavored or fragranced foods. Green and white teas will keep fresh for up to a year. Black and oolong teas for longer. Tea doesn't go bad per se, but it will lose flavor over time.

What are the health benefits of tea?
Recent studies have shown over and over the incredible benefits of tea, including white, red, green and black. Learn about the latest in health from the WebMD.

How much caffeine does tea contain?
Teas vary in caffeine content based on the type of tea as well as the length of time you steep your tea, and whether you reinfuse the same leaves.

Caffeine is a stimulant. It can increase alertness and heart rate. Caffeine can also cause restlessness and difficulty in sleeping. The effects of caffeine begin about 15 minutes after you consume it and last up to several hours. People differ in their sensitivity to caffeine. If it causes problems, consider limiting how much caffeine you consume.

Why do you offer so few decaffeinated teas?

The decaffeination process, using carbon dioxide or water, has a significant impact on the taste of the tea. Additionally, the FDA requirement for decaffeinated tea allows for 3% residual caffeine. So we feel the taste suffers significantly and the end product isn't even caffeine free. We prefer to focus on the very few decaffeinated teas which still provide a quality taste experience with greater offerings of naturally decaffeinated rooibos and other tisanes.
